TLC Poker Run

The weekend’s charity Poker Run in aid of TLC ( Tourette's Life Long Care ) was a great success, and we would like to thank all involved. The days rally across three Scottish Border Towns went well as the rally travelled from Galashiels to Hawick then across to Jedburgh taking in some of the most beautiful scenery that the borders as to offer the journey then finished off taking in the Border towns of Kelso then via Earlston finishing back at Langlee, Galashiels .

The day’s activities were followed by an evening of entertainment, provided free by two of the Lothian and Borders' favourite bands - Three Wise Monkeys and Crevis. And a big thank you to the organisers Michela Hunt , Johnny D And also Tommy for the catering , and the rest of the TLC group for their support and also in cleaning up after the event. And last but not least this Poker Run couldn’t have taken place without the generosity and support of all you guys who brought yourselves and your bikes and took part in the rally

Charity Poker Run

Come and join us for a charity poker run in support of TLC Borders (Tourettes Action). Travel round 5 Border Town collecting your winning hand. Entry fee will be £5.00 per vehicle (this will gain you entry to the evening entertainment too) - all motorbikes, trikes, scooters and cars welcome. If you can't make it for the poker run please come and join us for the evening entertainment supplied by three of Lothian and Borders' favourite bands - Three Wise Monkeys, Pyre and Crevis- for a measly £2.50 BYO drinks and camping available BBQ on the night All proceeds will go towards supplying holiday/respite accommodation for people living with Tourette Syndrome

Since the Tourette's Docu TLC

Things have been going great since the release of our documentary on National geographic Strange Behaviour ( Taboo ) Tourette’s and other disorders; We have been over whelmed by people’s reactions all very positive. Whilst bring Tourette syndrome back into the public eye, I have found it has also opened up an avenue for other folk, to talk about their own problems in life. Since the start of TLC, we have had some great integration nationwide with others living with Tourette Syndrome and other support groups, and we a found this very encouraging seeing others just getting on with life like everyone else, parents bringing up children, children being educated, and teenagers going through teen problems, but with the added burden of TS, and the inspiration that this brings, and this is one of the most important factors when diagnosed with TS, build a good support network around you with family ,friends, support groups and Tourette Associations, and knowing you are not alone is one of the biggest ways of staying strong and getting on with life. Even though we are no were near our goal of raising enough money to buy a holiday home or holiday caravan, this has not stopped us from providing breaks either by getting together or trips out like our recent TLC sea fishing trip, were Adults, teenagers and children all living with Tourette’s and other things like OCD, ADHD, sensory processing dysfunction, and other things associated with TS, all having a great time, doing something different having a chance to smile, have a laugh, relax and recharge our batteries, so we can go back home and carry on with our everyday lives.

TLC - Tourette's Lifelong Care - is a support group for people with Tourette's Syndrome

TLC - Tourette's Lifelong Care - is a support group for people with Tourette's Syndrome and associated conditions (ADHD, OCD, Aspergers etc.) and their friends and family. The purpose of creating TLC was to provide ground-level support for individuals and families in need, regardless of geographical location and without the requirement for a formal membership. One of the fundamental policies of TLC is that the absolute maximum percentage of funds raised or donated will be channelled towards support.With the intention of providing support and respite to families and individuals living with Tourette Syndrome. Three of our founding members, John Davidson, Paul Stevenson and Stuart 'Chopper' Colquhoun and so with a number of like-minded friends, set the wheels of TLC in motion. written by Stuart 'Chopper' Colquhoun.
